St. John's Church (St. Anne)

is a Roman Catholic Church, located north of the Temple Mount, between the door of Hatta and the door of the tribes. Jesus came to one of his miracles; the Byzantines built it in the fifth century AD, where Christians believe it is the home of Joachim And her mother). This church was burned with the burning of the Christian property by the Persians in 614 AD, when the Crusaders built it when they occupied Jerusalem in 1099. It was called the Church of St. Hannah. Salah al-Din made this church a link for the righteous, and a school for the scholars of Shafi'i in 1188. In the past, this church was known as the "paradise of paradise," and was called after the conquest of authority. An earthquake occurred during the period between 1821 and 1842, when the walls of the monastery were destroyed. The Ottoman government moved its stone and built the adjacent military barracks.

When the Crimean War ended with the triumph of Turkey (1855), Sultan Abdul Majid handed over this place to Napoleon III; in recognition of France, which had joined Turkey in its war with the Russians; and handed it to the French (1856 AD) 1882). In the first world war in 1914 occupied by the Turkish army, and around the Turkish leader Jamal Pasha to an Islamic college called "College of Salahuddin"; the Church did not harm her. When the English conquered Jerusalem in 1917, they restored the architecture to the white fathers. They established a library and a museum there.
