This church dates back to 389 AD. It was destroyed by the Persians in 614 AD; but the Crusaders rebuilt them in the twelfth century. The building of this church was given in 1924 by the Italian architect Antonio Barluzzi. Sixteen countries contributed to the construction of the church.
